Use Slidify in ChatGPT and Claude

Connect your Slidify account to ChatGPT, Claude or Claude Code and make narrated presentations without leaving the conversation. Ask for a deck on any topic, attach a document, check your credits or share a finished presentation. The decks land in your Slidify dashboard like any other, and credits are charged exactly as they are on the web.

Every assistant connects to the same server address (MCP URL):

https://api.slidify.io/mcp

ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT, open Plugins (chatgpt.com/plugins), select + and choose Add custom MCP server. Your workspace’s settings decide whether custom servers are allowed.
  2. Name it Slidify, paste the MCP URL above as the connection and choose OAuth for authentication, then create it.
  3. ChatGPT opens a Slidify page. Sign in, check what the app is asking for, and choose Allow.
  4. In a new chat, choose Slidify from the tools (+) menu and ask for a presentation, for example “Make a five-slide deck explaining photosynthesis to a 10-year-old”.

Claude (claude.ai and Claude Desktop)

  1. Open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Name it Slidify and paste the MCP URL above. Leave the advanced OAuth fields empty.
  3. Choose Connect, sign in to Slidify and choose Allow.

A connector you add on claude.ai is also available in Claude Desktop when you sign in with the same account. Connectors always sign in with OAuth: never paste a personal API key into a connector that your organisation shares.

Claude Code

Add the server with this command, then type /mcp in Claude Code to sign in with OAuth:

claude mcp add --transport http slidify https://api.slidify.io/mcp

For scripts, CI or a machine where a browser sign-in is awkward, create an API key under Dashboard → Integrations and pass it as a header instead:

claude mcp add --transport http slidify https://api.slidify.io/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer $SLIDIFY_API_KEY"

Each key lists exactly what it may do, and you can revoke it at any time. Treat it like a password: anyone holding it can act on your account within those permissions.

What the app can do

  • Create a presentation from a topic, your notes, a document or a web page — with AI narration and a video if you choose a voice.
  • Follow progress while a deck is being generated, then open the share link, PDF, PowerPoint file or video.
  • Find, rename, share, unshare and delete your presentations.
  • Browse templates before you create a deck.
  • See your plan, credit balance, usage and credit history, and change your default generation settings.

It cannot buy credits, change your plan or touch your password. Those stay on slidify.io, behind your normal sign-in.

Credits

Creating a presentation from a chat costs the same credits as creating it on the web. The assistant can tell you the estimated cost before it starts, and narration is billed once, for the minutes actually produced. If your balance runs short, top up or upgrade on slidify.io and ask the assistant to carry on.

Privacy and control

  • The assistant sends Slidify what you ask it to — your request, the settings it picks and any file or link you attach. Slidify sends back deck titles, progress, links and account summaries. How OpenAI or Anthropic handle the conversation itself is governed by their terms.
  • Presentations created from a chat are published with a public share link, so you can open them straight from the conversation. Anyone with the link can view the deck; you can unpublish it at any time.
  • Disconnect an app or revoke an API key under Dashboard → Integrations. Access stops immediately.
